What happens after you mark a P2P order as Paid

Once you mark an order as Paid, the P2P order moves into the payment confirmation stage. At this point, it is important to track the order status and stay in contact with the seller until the trade is completed.

1. Track the Order Status

After the Paid button is clicked, the order status changes to Pending confirmation.

At this stage:

  • The payment is marked as completed by the buyer

  • The seller is verifying receipt of the funds

  • The cryptocurrency remains locked in escrow

The cryptocurrency will not be credited to the buyer’s balance until the order is completed.

2. Stay Available in the Order

Do not close the order or leave the page immediately after making the payment. The seller may need extra time to verify the transfer or request additional details.

3. Keep All Communication Inside the Order Chat

The order chat is the only official communication channel between both parties and should be used for all trade-related discussions.

Recommended actions:

  • Respond promptly to messages from the seller

  • Provide proof of payment if requested

  • Clarify payment details when necessary

  • Do not continue the conversation in external messengers

4. Do not Send Payment Twice

If the transfer has already been sent, there is no need to send the payment again, even if the seller claims the funds have not arrived yet.

In this situation:

  • Check the transaction status through the bank or payment provider

  • Allow time for the transaction to process (bank delays are possible)

  • Upload proof of payment (receipt or bank statement) in the order chat

5. Wait for the Order to Be Completed

The cryptocurrency is released only after the order is finalized.

Here’s how the process works:

  • The seller confirms receipt of funds

  • The order status changes to Completed

  • The cryptocurrency is released from escrow and credited to the buyer’s balance

If the seller Does Not Confirm Payment

If the seller does not respond or refuses to confirm receipt of payment, open a dispute directly within the order.

The support team will review:

  • The order chat history

  • Payment details and proof of transfer

  • The terms of the listing

A final decision is made based on the available evidence.

6. How Settlement Works in a P2P Order

In a P2P order:

  • Cryptocurrency is locked in escrow when the order is created

  • The buyer sends fiat directly to the seller

  • Once payment is confirmed, the cryptocurrency is released to the buyer

Important

EMCD P2P only provides the platform infrastructure and escrow protection for the trade. Fiat payments are made directly between users, and users are responsible for sending payments correctly.
