On EMCD P2P, cancellation is available only for active orders and depends on their current status.
When an order can be canceled
An order can be canceled if:
Payment has not been sent and the Paid button has not been clicked
The counterparty is not responding
Payment details are incorrect
The advertisement terms do not match the actual conditions of the transaction
Technical issues have occurred during the process
Cancellation is only available before the order is completed. If the cryptocurrency has already been released from escrow or the order is closed, cancellation is not possible.
How to cancel a P2P order on EMCD
The buyer may cancel the order unilaterally in accordance with EMCD P2P rules.
Go to the P2P section and open the list of active orders
Select the active order to be canceled
Click Cancel order
Confirm the action
After cancellation, the order is closed, and the cryptocurrency (if the user is the seller) is automatically returned from escrow to the account balance.
Important rules
Do not cancel an order after payment
If payment has already been sent, the order must not be canceled under any circumstances. Wait for confirmation from the counterparty or open a dispute.
Check the order status
Before canceling, ensure the order is at a stage where cancellation is permitted.
Use the order chat
If an issue arises, contact the counterparty via the order chat first to help avoid unnecessary cancellations.
Cancellation limits
To prevent abuse, EMCD P2P enforces limits on frequent order cancellations.
If three orders are canceled in a row, access to P2P trading may be restricted for 24 hours.
Automatic order cancellation
An order may be canceled automatically if:
The payment time limit has expired
The required action was not confirmed within the specified time
Such orders are closed automatically by the system without user involvement.
If payment has already been sent
If payment has been sent but the order is not completed:
Do not cancel the order
Contact the counterparty via the order chat
Open a dispute if necessary
Contact support and provide order details
Retain proof of payment
Important notes
P2P orders involve direct interaction between users.
EMCD provides the infrastructure for P2P trading and holds cryptocurrency in escrow until completion of the order. However:
Fiat transfers are not processed by EMCD
Users’ banking operations are not controlled by EMCD
EMCD does not guarantee the success or refund of fiat payments
All disputes are reviewed individually by the support team.
