During a P2P transaction, an order passes through several stages. Each stage is displayed as a separate status in the platform interface.
The status shows the current stage of the transaction and whether any action is required from the buyer or seller. Below is an overview of what each status means and what typically occurs at every stage of the process.
Waiting for Transfer
This status means the order has been created and is awaiting payment from the buyer.
At this stage:
The buyer can see the seller’s payment details
A payment timer starts
The seller’s cryptocurrency is temporarily locked in escrow
The exact amount specified in the order must be transferred within the given time limit. After the payment is made, the Confirm send button must be clicked to notify the seller that the transfer has been completed.
If the payment time expires, the order is automatically canceled.
Waiting for Сonfirmation
This status appears after the buyer marks the transfer as completed.
At this stage, the seller must verify that the payment has been received and confirm it.
Important:
The cryptocurrency remains locked in escrow
Verification should rely only on the actual receipt of funds according to the bank or payment provider
Screenshots, notifications, or chat messages do not count as proof of payment.
Once payment is confirmed as received, the seller should complete the order and release the cryptocurrency to the buyer.
Dispute Opened
This status appears when one of the parties opens a dispute and the order is submitted to the support team for review.
Disputes may arise for several reasons, for example:
The buyer has completed payment but the seller has not released the cryptocurrency
The seller has not received the payment despite the buyer marking the order as paid
The terms of the trade were violated, including the amount, payment method, sender details
Another issue occurred during the transaction
During a dispute:
The order timer is paused
The cryptocurrency remains locked in escrow
The EMCD support team reviews the evidence provided by both parties
A decision is made based on the order history, the advertisement terms, and platform rules.
Canceled
An order may receive the Canceled status in several situations.
The buyer cancels the order before the transaction is completed
The payment time expires
The order is canceled following a support team decision
After cancellation, the cryptocurrency is released from escrow and returned to the seller.
Completed
The Completed status means the transaction has been successfully finalized.
This indicates that:
The seller has confirmed receipt of the payment
The cryptocurrency has been transferred to the buyer
The order has been fully closed
Once an order is completed, the transaction cannot be reversed.
P2P order statuses help users track the progress of a transaction and clarify what actions may be required at each stage.
Monitoring the order status, using escrow protection, and following order terms helps reduce risks and supports smooth transaction completion.
