Master the Trade: How to Add Payment Methods on EMCD P2P

Whether you’re a newcomer buying your first Bitcoin or a crypto entrepreneur managing high-volume liquidity, the payment method is the bridge between your bank account and your digital assets.

Updated over a week ago

On the EMCD P2P Marketplace, we’ve streamlined the process so you can spend less time navigating menus and more time executing profitable trades.

What is a P2P Payment Method?

In a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) environment, the payment method is the specific channel used to transfer fiat (USD, EUR, etc.) directly between the buyer and the seller.

Pro Tip: Your advertisement’s visibility depends on your payment options. The more flexible and reliable your methods are, the faster your trades will fill.

How to Set Up Your Payment Methods

Follow this step-by-step guide to integrate your preferred banking or e-wallet details into your P2P advertisements.

Step 1: Access the P2P marketplace

Log in to your EMCD dashboard and navigate to the P2P Marketplace via the main menu. This is your hub for all peer-to-peer activity.

Step 2: Create a new advertisement

Click the ‘Create’ button. This opens the ad configurator where you’ll define your price, volume, and — most importantly — your settlement terms.

Step 3: Select your payment channels

Scroll down to the ‘Payment Method’ section and click ‘Select Payment Methods’.

Step 4: Choose your fiat gateway

Select one or more methods from our extensive list.

Note: The available options will automatically update based on the fiat currency you selected for your ad (e.g., if you select USD, you will see compatible global banking and fintech options).

Step 5: Input your details

Enter your bank account or card information. For a seamless experience, ensure:

  • The account must be in your name

  • Double-check card numbers and IBANs to prevent delays.

  • Provide any necessary instructions (e.g., "Instant transfers only")

Step 6: Go live

Finalize your trade parameters and click ‘Publish’. Your ad is now live and ready for counterparties!

Important Notes:

  • You can add up to 5 different payment methods to a single P2P ad

  • Counterparties are required to use only the methods you’ve listed. If they ask to pay via an unlisted method, proceed with caution

  • To minimize disputes and fraud, never accept or send payments from third-party accounts. Always ensure the name on the EMCD account matches the bank account

  • You can edit your payment methods at any time, provided there are no active, pending orders linked to that specific advertisement
