How to start mining Kaspa?
Updated over 9 months ago

What is KASPA?

KASPA is a cryptocurrency that operates on the Kaspa blockchain.

The mining process for this coin is based on the kHeavyHash algorithm.

How to choose the device for mining KASPA?

To choose a device for mining KASPA, you can use two types of equipment:

1. ASIC miners specifically designed for the kHeavyHash algorithm, such as:
IceRiver KS0, KS1, KS2, KS3, KS3L

Please note!

These miners are designed specifically for the kHeavyHash algorithm and cannot be reconfigured for mining other cryptocurrencies or algorithms.

2. Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) if they have a memory capacity of at least 3 GB.

Please note!

With the appearance of ASIC miners, the mining difficulty has significantly increased, and mining with GPUs has become less profitable.

How to start mining KASPA on emcd.?

Stage 1. Register on emcd. or log into your account.

If you haven't used emcd. services before, the first thing you need to do is register in our emcd. ecosystem.

If you are already a registered user of emcd., please go to the account login page in your browser or log in to the emcd. application

You can then proceed to stage 2 in this guide.

To complete the registration and start earning from mining, go to the registration page.

  1. In the opened window:

    1. Enter your email address in the 'Email' field, the one you want to use to register your account.

    2. Create a password.

We recommend to create a strong password:
      - with both lowercase and uppercase letters;
      - with numbers and symbols;
      - with an optimal length of at least 12 characters.
    3. Press "Create an account".

  2. An email confirmation will be sent to the email address you provided during registration.

  3. Check your inbox at the specified email address, find the email from emcd., and click on the link in the email.

  4. After confirming your registration, log in to your account using the email and password you provided.

If you didn't find the email in your registered email inbox, please check the 'Spam,' 'Junk,' and other folders where your email system may automatically route our message.

Stage 2. Specify a wallet for receiving payouts of mined KASPA coins

  1. Go to the 'Settings' section (left-hand menu)

  2. Select the Kaspa (KAS) coin in the top right corner

  3. You have two wallet options:

    1. Internal emcd. wallet - mined coin payouts will be sent to your automatically created emcd. wallet. In this case, check the box 'Use emcd address for payments' (we recommend using our wallet).

    2. External KAS wallet for payouts - mined coin payouts will be sent to any external KAS wallet service. In this case, enter the address of the external wallet in the 'KAS payment address' field.

  4. Set the "Minimum value" - minimum withdrawal threshold - this is the amount of coins at which an automatic withdrawal will occur from your mining account to the wallet you selected in the previous step.

Minimum withdrawal value - 50 KAS.
  5. Press "Save".

  6. An email will be sent to the email address associated with your account, requesting confirmation of the wallet setup.

  7. Click the link in the email to complete the wallet setup for payouts.

If you didn't find the email in your registered email inbox, please check the 'Spam,' 'Junk,' and other folders where your email system may automatically route our message.

Stage 3. Configure the miner for mining KASPA on the emcd. pool (two options)

3.1. Configure an ASIC miner for mining KASPA

  1. Log in to the ASIC (in the web panel).

    • Find the device's IP address using IP Scan, and then enter this IP address in your browser's address bar.

  2. Configure the connection to the emcd. pool.

    • Go to the ASIC tab (Miner Setup).

    • In the URL section, paste the stratum addresses that are closest to your region in all three fields:

      stratum+tcp://gate.emcd.io:9999 - Russia
      stratum+tcp://eu.emcd.io:9999 - Europe
      stratum+tcp://eu2.emcd.io:9999 - Europe (2)
      stratum+tcp://kz.emcd.io:9999 - Kazakhstan
      stratum+tcp://cn.emcd.io:9999 - China
      stratum+tcp://us.emcd.io:9999 - USA
      stratum+tcp://ir.emcd.io:9999 - Iran
    • "Worker" is the name of your worker.

The format for the name is:

      username.worker

You can find the username in your personal account in the top left corner under the emcd. logo

    • For the password, enter any password.

  3. After completing these steps, restart the miner.

Updating data after the connection may take 15-20 minutes.

Once this happens, information about your equipment will be displayed in your personal account on the website or in the application.

3.2. Configure the miner for mining KASPA on GPU

  1. Download one of the miners for mining KASPA on GPU:

  2. Unpack the miner.

    • Import the contents of the archive into a separate folder (any folder of your choice).

  3. Download the .bat file, edit it according to the recommendations below, and add it to the miner's folder.

    • lolMiner.exe --algo KASPA --pool stratum+tcp://gate.emcd.io:9090 --user WORKER_NAME

You need to change in the .bat file the following text:

      • "stratum+tcp://gate.emcd.io:9090" - is the stratum address of the nearest country:

        stratum+tcp://gate.emcd.io:9090 - Russia
        stratum+tcp://eu.emcd.io:9090 - Europe
        stratum+tcp://eu2.emcd.io:9090- Europe (2)
        stratum+tcp://kz.emcd.io:9090 - Kazakhstan
        stratum+tcp://cn.emcd.io:9090 - China
        stratum+tcp://us.emcd.io:9090 - USA
        stratum+tcp://ir.emcd.io:9090 - Iran
      • "WORKER_NAME" - this is your username on the emcd. pool, replace it with your own username. You can find the username in your personal account in the top left corner under the emcd. logo.

    • Teamredminer - link to .bat file

      teamredminer.exe -a kas -o stratum+tcp://gate.emcd.io:9090 -u WORKER_NAME
