How to Sell Cryptocurrency via EMCD P2P in the App

This guide explains how to sell cryptocurrency on EMCD P2P platform using the EMCD mobile app. The process consists of several steps: selecting an offer, creating an order, receiving payment, and releasing the cryptocurrency.

Updated this week

Step 1. Go to the P2P section

  1. Open the EMCD App

  2. In the top menu, select “Top up” or “Withdraw”.

  3. From the dropdown menu, choose “Via P2P”.

Step 2. Set search parameters

Choose the Sell option.

To find a suitable advertisement, use the filters at the top of the screen:

  • Select the cryptocurrency you want to sell (e.g., USDT)

  • Choose your fiat currency (e.g., USD)

  • Enter the amount you want to exchange

  • if needed, select a specific payment method or leave All payment selected

Once the filters are applied, the list of active ads updates automatically.

Step 3. Choose a Buyer’s Advertisement

Before creating an order, carefully review the advertisement details. Pay attention to:

  • Price per unit of cryptocurrency

  • Available limit and order limit

  • Accepted payment methods

  • Buyer statistics — completed orders (30D), completion rate (30D)

After opening the advertisement, you can review the maker’s terms.

Important: The maker's terms listed in the advertisement are part of the agreement. If they do not suit you, do not create the order — choose another advertisement.

In the User Information section, you can find additional details such as the average transfer time, the number of days since the first order, the total number of reviews, and feedback from other users.

These indicators help you assess the counterparty’s reliability before creating an order.

Step 4. Enter the Trade Amount

On the order creation screen, enter either:

  • The amount of cryptocurrency you want to sell, or

  • The fiat amount you wish to receive

The system will automatically calculate the corresponding value.

Next, select the appropriate payment method from the available options. If necessary, add your payment details.

Before confirming, carefully review:

  • The price

  • The order limit

  • The selected payment method

  • The maker’s terms

If everything is correct, click Sell. Your order will be created, and the cryptocurrency will be temporarily locked.

Step 5. Wait for Payment

Once the order is created, your cryptocurrency is automatically locked until the trade is completed.

The buyer must:

  1. Transfer the fiat funds using the selected payment method

  2. Click Confirm send to notify you

Until you confirm receipt of the funds, the cryptocurrency remains locked.

Step 6. Verify Payment and Release Cryptocurrency

When the buyer marks the order as paid:

  1. Open your banking app or payment provider

  2. Independently verify that the funds have actually been credited to your account

Make sure that:

  • The full amount has been received

  • The payment was sent using the agreed payment method

  • The funds are fully credited to your account — not just shown in a screenshot or chat message

Do not release cryptocurrency if:

  • The payment is incomplete

  • The buyer only provides screenshots as proof

  • The funds have not yet appeared in your account

Once you confirm that the payment has been received in full, click Confirm release.

Remember: Releasing cryptocurrency is irreversible.

Important Notes

  • Cryptocurrency remains in escrow until you confirm receipt of the payment.

  • Never release cryptocurrency without verifying the actual receipt of funds.

  • Communicate with the counterparty only through the order chat on the EMCD platform.

  • If any issues arise, file a dispute and do not complete the order until the issue is resolved.
