Passkey is an alternative way to sign in to your account and confirm important settings changes (such as your payout address) without a password or SMS codes.
A cryptographic key saved on the device and protected by biometrics or a PIN is used to verify the action. This can improve security and make signing in faster.
Setting up Passkey step by step
In the web version
Open Profile at the bottom of the left sidebar
Go to the Security tab in the top menu
Click Add Passkey in the 2FA protection section
Confirm the action using the device's biometrics or a system confirmation method, such as a PIN code
Confirm the setup on the device
Activate Passkey biometrics
In the app
Open Profile
Go to Security
Tap Passkey biometrics
Select the verification method: Face ID or fingerprint
Confirm the setup on the device

How Passkey works after activation
After you turn on Passkey, signing in and confirming account changes can become faster:
in the app, biometrics are used (Face ID or fingerprint)
in the web version, the method depends on the device: biometrics or the device PIN / password
Where Passkey is used
Passkey is used to confirm sensitive actions in your EMCD Mining account, helping protect your mining rewards and account security. These include:
changing the external wallet address for mining payouts;
updating payout settings;
confirming other security-sensitive account actions.
Important
Passkey is linked to the device or sync account (for example, iCloud or Google)
when using a new device, repeated setup may be required
it is recommended to keep a backup 2FA method (for example, Google Authenticator)
If you lose access to all your Passkey devices and have no backup sign-in method, it may be impossible to restore access to your account.
If Passkey cannot be enabled
Check:
whether biometrics are enabled on the device
whether the browser supports Passkey
whether the app and browser are updated to the latest version
