Calculation and accrual of rewards
Displaying reward information in the Dashboard
In the Dashboard — both in the web version and in the app — you can see:
Actual rewards for the previous day
Projected rewards for today — calculated based on the previous day’s rewards and the current hashrate
Amount to be paid — unpaid rewards in the mining wallet that are awaiting transfer to an external wallet, if one is specified for payouts
For which period is the reward calculated?
Rewards are calculated for the previous day of mining — from 00:00 of the previous day to 00:00 of the current day UTC.
When is the mined amount recorded?
We record the mined amount for the previous day at 00:00 of the current day UTC.
When are rewards credited?
For all coins, rewards for the previous day are credited between 06:00 and 09:00 of the current day UTC.
Why do projected and actual rewards not match?
Projected rewards show the expected payout for the current day based on the previous day’s rewards — taking into account difficulty and fees.
Actual rewards are calculated after the settlement period ends, when the data is updated and the exact calculation is performed.
Therefore, the actual amount may differ from the projection — it can be higher or lower.
Example:
On the 17th, your projected reward was 0.00123456 BTC — based on your average hashrate and the rewards from the 16th
On the 18th at 00:00 UTC, we recorded your actual mined amount for the 17th: XXX Th (from 00:00 on the 17th to 00:00 on the 18th UTC)
We updated the rewards for the 17th — for example, the network rewards increased compared to the 16th
Your actual reward for the 17th was calculated by multiplying your recorded hashrate by the updated rewards: 0.00130000 BTC
So on the 18th, for the 17th, you will receive 0.00130000 BTC, which is higher than the projected amount you saw on the 17th.
Why was my reward low even though I started mining yesterday?
On the first day, your reward is proportional to the time your mining equipment was active until the reward was recorded.
Example:
You started mining on the 20th at 20:00 UTC
On the 21st at 00:00 UTC, we recorded how much you mined.
You will receive a reward for the 4 hours of mining from 20:00 UTC on the 20th to 00:00 UTC on the 21st
The next day, on the 22nd, you will receive rewards for a full day of mining (from 00:00 UTC on the 21st to 00:00 UTC on the 22nd).
Payouts
What’s the difference between a payout and a reward?
A payout is the actual transfer of your accrued coins to your main EMCD account or to the external wallet you specified in the payout settings.
When are payouts made?
To your EMCD wallet: immediately with the rewards — no need to wait.
To an external wallet: daily between 12:00 and 14:00 UTC.
Why hasn’t my payout to an external wallet gone through?
Check the following:
Recently changed payout wallet?
After changing the wallet, a 24-hour security hold applies before the first payout to that address.
Example:
You set your payout wallet on the 20th at 15:00 UTC
The 24-hour hold lasts until 15:00 UTC on the 21st
If the payout window was 13:30 UTC, the payout would be delayed to the next day, between 12:00–14:00 UTC.
Minimum payout threshold not reached?
Payouts are made only after your balance reaches the set minimum.
Example:
On the 23rd at 09:00 UTC, you set a minimum payout of 0.1 BTC
Your balance is 0.099 BTC — below the threshold
The payout on the 23rd will not occur. You will receive it once your balance reaches the minimum threshold.
Payout completed but not visible in wallet
Go to Mining > Payouts in your account, find the relevant payout in your transaction history, and click «In Blockchain»
Once the page opens, you can view the transaction on the blockchain. The funds will reach your external wallet after the «Status» shows 3–5 confirmations, depending on the transfer amount
